Ventus Marine orders crew transfer vessels at Strategic Marine

PSA Marine unit Ventus Marine has contracted four crew transfer vessels (CTVs) at Singapore-based shipbuilder Strategic Marine for work in the European and Asian offshore wind sectors.

The 27-m-long CTVs, designed by BMT, are scheduled for delivery by the end of 2024 onwards, with two managed by PSA Marine’s partner Njord Offshore in Europe while the other two will be operated by Njord Marine in Taiwan.

BMT said the Taiwanese units have been designed to handle onerous conditions in the region with mooring capabilities in typhoon conditions, while the duo set to operate in Europe will include IPS propulsion and comply with the new MCA Work Boat Code Edition 3.

For Strategic Marine, the deal marks Njord Offshore’s return, which has in the past ordered CTVs for its owners, that served as pioneer vessels from the Southeast Asia region.

PSA Marine, a subsidiary of Singapore’s PSA International, partnered with UK-based Njord Offshore in 2015 to provide a fleet of modern 21-m and 26-m CTVs.
