Aker Solutions seals Equinor subsea deal

Norway’s Aker Solutions has been lined up for a new contract by fellow energy major Equinor to provide a subsea production system and control umbilical for the Eirin field development in the North Sea.

The final contract award worth between NOK500m ($46.5m) and NOK1.5bn ($139.3m) is subject to Equinor and partners’ approval and final investment decision as well as final contract negotiations, Aker Solutions said.

The Eirin field was originally discovered north of the Sleipner and Gina Krog field in 1978. The development concept is a subsea tie-back to the Gina Krog platform, using existing facilities and infrastructure.

The scope of work covers a complete subsea production system with major deliveries expected in 2024 and 2025.
