Diana Shipping locks kamsarmax bulker into charter with Cobelfret

Greece’s Diana Shipping has secured employment for its kamsarmax bulk carrier at a slightly improved rate compared to the vessel’s previous deal.

The New York-listed shipowner has fixed out the 2010-built Myrsini to Cobelfret until February 2025, with options until March 25.

The new deal, albeit shorter, will earn $2,100 more per day compared to the vessel’s current charter of $15,000 per day with Salanc, set to expire on June 25.

The Semiramis Paliou-led owner and operator of 39 bulkers, with one capesize set to exit the fleet and two newbuild methanol dual fuel kamsarmaxes delivering in 2027 and 2028, said it expects to earn about $3.71m from the charter’s minimum scheduled period.

Earlier this month, the company picked up a charter deal from Reachy Shipping for the 2012-built, 98,704 dwt, post-panamax Polymnia at $17,500 daily until at least August 2025.
