Marine Sales Engineer covering the South Florida Cruise Ship, Mega-Yacht, and Commercial Marine segments.
Position Description
- Conduct vessel visits as requested by marine customers to inspect for needed equipment, repairs, measurements, etc.
- Converse with technical personnel including ship's crew and Port Engineers / Vessel Managers / Technical Superintendents to understand requirements and provide recommended solutions.
- Convey field information back to sales staff in order to create quotes for eventual purchase.
- Attend installation / commissioning periods of equipment (if applicable) and ensure communication between all parties to ensure customer satisfaction with the equipment and the installation.
- Conduct customer office visits to meet with key decision makers within each organization.
- Explore opportunities for cross-selling with company line of products, particularly within the purchasing departments.
- Establish relationships with high-level decision makers within the marine customers, naval architects, shipyards, boat repair yards, etc. to build future business.
Preferred Qualifications
- B.S. Degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or related engineering study.
- Willingness to travel extensively in South Florida and other locations (including shipyards in the USA and Bahamas).
- Demonstrated commitment to customer satisfaction.
- 1-2 years shipboard (yacht or commercial vessels, USCG, USN, etc.) experience.
- Valid US Passport and Driver's License.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Must be able to obtain a TWIC and Port Everglades and Port Miami badges for access to the vessels in the port.
- Excellent references.
