Noble wins $177m drillship extension from Murphy Oil

Offshore drilling giant Noble Corporation has secured more work for its drillship Noble Stanley Lafosse in the Gulf of Mexico.

Arkansas-based oil and gas exploration firm Murphy Oil has exercised its option to drill five additional wells in the Gulf of Mexico.

This extension is expected to span one year and has an estimated contract value of $177m. This extension includes an additional unpriced option for a further five wells. Dayrates for the extension have not been revealed.

The 2014-built drillship has been on hire with Murphy Oil since July 2023. The initial deal was scheduled to end in November 2024.
