Terje Askvig to take the helm at Prosafe

Oslo-listed semisub accommodation vessel owner Prosafe has appointed Terje Askvig as its new chief executive officer.

He will take the helm from interim CEO Reese McNeel, who will continue as finance chief, as of November 1 this year.

Askvig has, for the last 11 years, been an operating partner and senior advisor at European private equity firm Triton Partners.

During his period as partner with Triton, he was chairman of DeepOcean, Nordic Tankers and Herning Shipping and also held directorships on various other Triton-related companies. He has also served or is serving on the board of OSM Thome Group and Avarn Security Group, as well as chairing the nomination committee of Höegh Autoliners.

Before joining Triton, Askvig held leading positions at Eitzen Chemical, Fred Olsen & Co, BT Shipping and a family office, Pausco.

“Terje’s experience and track record fits well with Prosafe’s strategic agenda in a volatile short term and clearly improving market for high end offshore accommodation. The board is confident that Terje will complement and strengthen the existing executive team in Prosafe,” said Glen Rødland, chairman of Prosafe.

Askvig is replacing Jesper Kragh Andresen who stepped down as Prosafe boss after more than six years.
