2020 Bulkers converts another index-linked contract to fixed rates

Tor Olav Trøim-backed 2020 Bulkers has switched another one of its newcastlemaxes from index-linked to a fixed-rate charter.

The Oslo-listed owner of eight scrubber-fitted newcastlemax bulk carriers has fixed the 2019-built Bulk Santiago to Koch Shipping at $25,024 per day, plus scrubber benefit.

Earlier this week, the company converted to fixed rates on the 2019-built Bulk Sandefjord and 2020-built Bulk Shenzhen, Bulk Sydney and Bulk Santos.

Following the latest deal, 2020 Bulkers will have four ships fixed for December at an average rate of $21,887 per day, five ships fixed for January and February 2024 at a dayrate of $20,869, and three vessels will earn 19,177 per day on average in March 2024.
