Belgian tanker owner Euronav has sold its 2009-built 157,700 dwt suezmax tanker Felicity to an unnamed global supplier and operator of offshore floating platforms.
The sale has resulted in a capital loss of approximately $3m for the company, with cash generated on the transaction after repayment of debt around $21.1m.
The vessel will be converted into an FPSO by the new owner.
“Once again Euronav has demonstrated a capability to generate value for our stakeholders as part of our approach on fleet renewal. This is the eighth vessel we have successfully introduced into an offshore project. It reflects our reputation for providing high quality operational tonnage for the offshore sector,” said Paddy Rodgers, CEO of Euronav.
Euronav operates a fleet of 68 tankers made up of 41 VLCCs, 26 suezmax tankers and one LR1 tanker.
