Pandey takes the ship finance reins at Standard Chartered

Standard Chartered Bank has appointed Abhishek Pandey as its new global head of shipping finance.

Pandey commenced the role this week, replacing Hong Kong-based ship finance veteran Nigel Anton, who is stepping down from the role. Anton will stay on with the ship finance team to assist the bank with its plans to manage the existing ship operating portfolio.

Having commenced his career at sea, Pandey joined Standard Chartered Bank in 2007 to start the shipping finance business after a two-year stint with CSAV. The bank’s ship finance business has since grown to over $5bn today.
