Greek owner Tsakos Energy Navigation (TEN) has returned to Samsung Heavy Industries for more shuttle tankers.
Shipbuilding sources have listed the New York-listed company behind an order for a 154,400 dwt newbuild South Korean shipyard revealed in a regulatory filing Monday.
The $149m deal comes with an optional second vessel and is backed by a long-term charter with ExxonMobil.
Earlier this year, the US supermajor also reserved up to four slots for shuttle tanker newbuilds at Samsung Heavy, with the first 150,000 dwt pair slated for delivery in June and December 2027.
The latest order brings TEN’s newbuilding projects to seven. Samsung Heavy will deliver the vessel by the end of August 2026, on top of two shuttle tankers delivering in 2025.
