A fire broke out at Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering’s Okpo Shipyard today, which has killed one worker.
Another seven workers were injured in the incident, with one of them in critical condition.
The fire started in a tank on an 85,000 dwt LPG vessel under construction at the yard. Firefighters took one hour to put out the fire. It has not been made public who is the owner of the damaged ship under construction.
This is the second fire at Okpo Shipyard in the past three months. In August, a tanker under construction at the yard caught fire, killing two workers and injured another seven.
