Helping prop up its own yard Japan’s Kambara Kisen has come in for an order of four aframax tankers at Tsuneishi Zosen. Moreover, another Japanese line, Meiji Shipping has inked a contract for four identical 115,000 dwt aframaxes at the same yard. All eight ships will deliver in 2017 and 2018.
Tsuneishi Zosen is the Japanese lead yard of the Tsuneishi group which has yards also in China and the Philippines (pictured) as well as plans to launch a facility in Indonesia. Kambara Kisen is the shipowning arm of the family run group.
