Aker Solutions scores MMO contracts from ConocoPhillips

Aker Solutions has announced that its maintenance, modifications and operations (MMO) business in Norway secured two contracts for work at North Sea fields operated by ConocoPhillips.

The contracts will see Aker Solutions become ConocoPhillips’ main supplier of maintenance and modifications work offshore Norway for five years. The agreement may be extended by up to three years and covers work on all installations at the Ekofisk and Eldfisk fields offshore Norway, starting from February.

The contract value is up to actual maintenance and modifications work undertaken in the period and could range between NOK1bn ($115m) and NOK3bn ($345m).

Aker Solutions was also awarded a contract to compete for work on large, complex modifications projects at these fields. The contract has the same fixed period and option.

In January Aker Solutions that it was reducing its MMO business in Norway from four regional units to just one and up to 900 permanent jobs may be lost in the process.
