Maersk Supply Service offloads two anchor handlers
Maersk Supply Service has sold two AHTS vessels, Maersk Supplier and Maersk Seeker, as part of its ongoing divestment plans.
Maersk Supply Service announced in August that it is reducing its fleet by up to 20 vessels over a period of 18 months. The plan is a response to layups, limited trading opportunities and global over-supply of offshore supply vessels in the industry.
So far 10 of the 20 vessels have already left the fleet and more will follow in 2017. The vast majority of the divested vessels are expected to be recycled or modified by their new owners.
Maersk Supply Ships currently has a fleet of 47 vessels.
