Mexico’s Port of Veracruz set to expand
The Port of Veracruz on Mexico’s east coast is set to add five new terminals.
Luxembourg company Jan de Nul Group announced it has the $65.3m dredging contract, comprising 13m cubic metres of removal and reclamation, for the project which will comprise a container terminal, a multipurpose terminal, a liquid cargo terminal and bulk terminals.
Once completed, the terminals are expected to handle 100m tons of cargo annually, more than any other port in Mexico.
With a hoped for start in summer this year, works should be done by March 2018.
