Port of Corpus Christi agrees 30-year lease and development project with Maverick
The board of commissioners for the Port of Corpus Christi in southeast Texas has approved a 30-year lease with Maverick Terminals Corpus for the development of a 41-acre site in the inner harbour on the north side of the Corpus Christi Ship Channel.
This project will include an oil dock with Suezmax-handling capability, a rail terminal and a petroleum products storage facility.
Maverick is a subsidiary of San Antonio, Texas-based natural gas supplier Howard Energy Partners (HEP), which has previously built two other Texas port terminals at Brownsville and Port Arthur.
The Port of Corpus Christi is the fourth largest in the US in terms of volume.
