OOS International and Jiangsu Fanzhou form offshore heavy lift alliance
Dutch offshore heavy lift and accommodation specialist OOS International has formed a strategic alliance with Chinese offshore services company Jiangsu Fanzhou Shipping.
The alliance, signed in Nanjing last week, will help both companies expand the coverage of their vessels globally in order to grow business. Fanzhou will increase their exposure in Europe, Americas and Mexico while OOS International will be able to extend their presence in Asia.
Léon Overdulve, CEO of OOS International, commented: “We are extremely proud to partner with Fanzhou, known for their innovative portfolio of assets and experience, to bring valuable resources to the offshore field worldwide. This partnership will provide an attractive win-win business proposition for both companies as it leverages on the strengths of each company.”
OOS operates a fleet of heavy lift accommodation semi-submersibles, while Fanzhou offers a fleet of transport semi-submersibles, barges and marine vessels.
OOS International has committed two vessels exclusively to the alliance, a 50,000mt semi-submersible heavy lift vessel and 20,000mt self-propelled barge, both currently under construction and set to be delivered next year.
