Songa Offshore’s Bjørnar Iversen has resigned from his role of chief executive officer effective March 6.
The announcement comes just hours after Transocean announced it had received regulatory approval related to the compulsory acquisition of the remaining shares in Songa, moving it to the brink of closing the acquisition of the company.
Iversen joined Songa Offshore in June 2013, and oversaw the deal to sell the company to Transocean as first announced in August 2017.
