Royal Arctic Line orders boxship pair at Zamakona
Greenland’s Royal Arctic Line has tapped the Spanish shipbuilder Zamakona Yards to build the company’s two largest boxships.
The vessels will be designed by Norway’s Havyard and will deliver from the Basque yard in 2020. The newbuilds will replace the 1979-built Pajuttaat and the 1983-built Vestlandia.
Royal Arctic Line was founded in 1993 and is wholly owned by the government of Greenland. Its fleet today numbers 12 vessels.
