The world’s largest shipbuilder is still filling out its 2020 slots and is offering deals for ship types it would turn away in the busier times of its heyday.
Hyundai Heavy Industries has agreed to build a pair of suezmaxes for Turkey’s Ciner Group. The ships are due to go on charter to Koch and come with a mid-2020 delivery timeline. No price has been given for the deal.
Ciner is a diverse conglomerate. Its shipping interests span tankers, dry bulk and boxships with 26 ships trading today. On its website, Ciner states it is also keen to enter the LNG trades soon.
