Advantage Tankers books suezmax newbuilds in Japan

Advantage Tankers has bolstered its suezmax orderbook with a deal for two newbuilds at Japan’s Nihon Shipyard.

The Geneva-based company is paying around $85m per each 157,000 dwt tanker set to deliver from Imabari Shipbuilding and Japan Marine United joint venture shipyard in the second half of 2025.

Advantage also has three 157,000 dwt units on order at Daehan Shipbuilding in South Korea for delivery in 2025.

Established in 2014, the Nazli Williams-controlled company currently operates a total of 25 ships, of which six VLCCs, eight suezmaxes, three aframaxes, two LR2s, three LR1s and three MR1s.
