Altera Shuttle Tankers bags TotalEnergies charter deal

Altera Shuttle Tankers has landed a deal with French energy major TotalEnergies for the charter of its 2013-built suezmax Bossa Nova Spirit.

The company did not disclose the value of the contract for the 154.000 dwt vessel but said it was for one year, with extension options for an additional year.

The shuttle tanker arm of Brookfield Asset Management-controlled Altera Infrastructure has a fleet of 20 vessels, of which 19 are owned.

The Bossa Nova Spirit, which came off contract in November, was one of four 2013-built units working in Brazil. AIS data shows the vessel arrived in Setubal, Portugal, on November 21.

The remaining Brazilian trio, the Sertanejo Spirit is fixed until January 2024 with extension options available; the Samba Spirit is on hire until June 2025; and the Lambada Spirit recently secured a five-year charter from Petrobras.
