India’s Apeejay Shipping continues its buying spree of panamax bulkers over the age of ten years with the acquisition of KC Maritime’s Tsuneishi-built panamax Darya Uma.
Brokers tell Splash that the Indian company is the buyer of the 2005-built bulker for, in a $12.5m deal done a couple of months back.
The vessel will be renamed APJ Kabir Anand.
Late last year, Apeejay bought 13-year old Japanese-built panamax Pugnani, now named APJ Angad 2, to take its fleet past the 5m dwt mark.
