Argeo awarded first project for newly bought vessel

Norwegian surveyor Argeo has received a conditional letter of award from an undisclosed international energy company.

The work on the project, according to the company, will be subject to a final contract agreement. If the final contract agreement is signed, the surveyor will mobilise the Argeo Venture for the project upon completion of reactivation and upgrade work on the vessel.

The company took delivery of the Argeo Venture in November of last year from compatriot offshore seismic specialist Shearwater GeoServices. It bought the vessel, formerly known as SW Bell and Polarcus Nadia, from Shearwater in September 2023 for $6m in cash and about 20.1m shares in Argeo.

The project has an expected duration of nine months and will commence directly after the vessel completes the conversion upgrade in Norway and will occupy the vessel for the remainder of 2024.
