Argeo awarded Norwegian deepsea survey contract

Norwegian surveyor Argeo has been awarded a contract by the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) for multi-sensor data acquisition with autonomous underwater vehicles (AUV) in the northern part of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge.

The purpose of the deep-sea survey is to further evaluate mineral resource potential in the 500-km-long Knipovich Ridge.

The project, with a contract value of NOK37M ($3.5m), has a duration of eight weeks in total, including mobilisation and demobilisation, and is scheduled to be performed during the summer season of 2023.

Argeo will mobilise its two high-specification ultra-deepwater SeaRaptor AUVs, and the 2001-built subsea vessel Argeo Searcher.
