Nasdaq-listed oilfield services major Baker Hughes has been awarded two contracts by Norwegian operator Vår Energi, expanding its North Sea footprint in exploration logging, well intervention technology and subsea production systems.
The first contract is a nine-year engagement for well intervention and exploration logging solutions to assist Vår Energi in further developing prospects in the Norwegian Continental Shelf.
Baker Hughes said the agreement enables a seamless integration of its technologies into the wider operations of Vår Energi, “enabling a powerful impact on their carbon reduction efforts”.
The second contract, which spans 15 years, covers the delivery of a bespoke Balder field vertical tree system. The deal includes support for existing Balder legacy wells and any future developments in the Balder area.
