Borr Drilling seals jackup deal in Cameroon

Norwegian jack-up rig owner Borr Drilling has struck a deal with Tower Resources for its premium rig Norve, the London-listed oil and gas company focused on Africa said.

The 2011-built unit has been earmarked to drill the NJOM-3 well on Tower’s Thali license in Cameroon in 2024.

The Norve is currently working for BW Energy in Gabon until June 2024, according to Borr’s fleet status report.

Tower said it anticipates the rig to be available in Cameroon between April and August 2024.

“The contract is also subject to conditions precedent concerning the final documentation of the company’s Thali license extension, and prepayment of a portion of the expected rig hire. Other terms of the contract are confidential,” the Jeremy Asher-led Tower added in a filing.
