China Merchants inaugurates roro joint venture with Guangzhou Automobile

China Merchants Group has officially launched a new roro shipping joint venture with Guangzhou Automobile (GAC).

The joint venture is set up in Guangzhou, a major roro logistics hub in south China.

China Merchants announced the plan to set up the joint venture in June. The new company Guangzhou China Merchants RoRo Transporation is 70% owned by China Merchants subsidiary CSC RoRo Logistics and 30% owned by GAC.

Earlier this year, CSC RoRo Logistics placed an order at China Merchants Heavy Industry (Jiangsu) for the construction of two 3,800 ceu car carriers.

CSC RoRo Logistics currently owns a fleet of 10 car carriers.
