Brazilian offshore driller Constellation Oil Services has secured a new contract with Petrobras for its ultra-deepwater semisub rig Alpha Star.
The deal, worth around $392m, will keep the rig fixed for a period of three years.
Petrobras is Constellation’s largest client, with seven contracts in force.
The 2011-built rig, currently on contract with 3R Petroleum, will start its campaign for Brazil’s state-controlled oil giant in the fourth quarter of 2024.
The latest confirmation is part of Petrobras’ four-rig tender, in which Transocean, Petroserv and Foresea also emerged as winners.
