COSCOL takes elderly Norwegian car carriers

Norwegian Car Carriers (NOCC) has sold an elderly pair of car carriers to Cosco Shipping Limited (COSCOL). The sisterships – NOCC Puebla and NOCC Pamplona – are both capable of carrying 4,287 cars each, and were built in Croatia 17 years ago. China Cosco Shipping is believed to be paying in the region of $25m for the pair.

COSCOL is beefing up its car carrying fleet. As well as its own ships, it has a joint venture with Japan’s Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK).
