Crane collapses on bulk carrier in Turkey

A ship repair yard in Turkey will be out of action for a while following a floating dock accident that led to one crane collapsing on a Liberian-flagged bulk carrier Osprey S.

The incident took place at Çındemir Shipyard in Tuzla while the 30,600 dwt ship was under repairs.

Multiple videos showed the dock tilted for an unknown reason, with the crane ending up on the ship, causing minor damage. No injuries have been reported.

Local media reports say there was also no request for assistance from the shipyard to the Directorate General of Coastal Safety.
