Diamond Offshore wins drillship work off Guinea-Bissau

Houston-based Diamond Offshore has entered a drilling contract with an undisclosed client for one of its drillships for work offshore Guinea-Bissau.

The drillship Ocean BlackRhino was awarded a one-well contract with a minimum duration of 30 days representing $15.4m of additional backlog, excluding mobilization.

Work under the new contract is expected to begin in July 2024 in direct continuation of the rig’s current contract with Woodside in Senegal. The contract with Woodside started back in July 2021.

“We are pleased to secure this work with a new client in direct continuation of our current contract and look forward to commencing the campaign next year,” Bernie Wolford, Jr., president and CEO of Diamond Drilling, said.
