DOF sells off third non-core PSV

Norwegian offshore vessel owner DOF has sold another non-core platform supply vessel it picked up from lenders earlier this year.

The Oslo-listed group’s DOF Rederi is offloading the 2004-built Skandi Captain to an unnamed international buyer, with delivery expected in the first quarter of 2024.

No price has been given for the medium-sized PSV, which traded in the North Sea market, but DOF said the sale will have a “positive accounting effect”.

The unit was part of a three-ship package DOF bought for NOK270m ($24.5m). The 2005-built Skandi Barra and the 2003-built Skandi Caledonia were flipped in October for NOK275m.

DOF chief executive Mons S. Aase, said earlier that the group’s growth strategy would be focussed on subsea projects and offshore floating wind while maximising the combined return from the expected strong momentum in earnings and PSV values in the short to medium term.
