EA Technique gets contract of affreightment

Malaysia’s EA Technique has won a RM39m ($9.3m) contract of affreightment (COA) to carry chemicals and clean petroleum products for compatriot company Marine Creation for up to three years from May 15.

The COA itself consists of a firm one-year period plus an “automatic extension” of two years, which will commence on May 15, 2017. The extension is part of a COA signed May 15, 2015, between Petronas Chemicals Marketing (Labuan) and Marine Creation.

During the initial one-year period of the contract, EA Technique vessels will carry three or four cargo nominations per month, each consisting of 5,000 tonnes (+/- 5%) of product.

Marine Creation transports clean petroleum product, chemical and vegetable oils, plus dry bulk materials such as coal.

EA Technique’s tanker fleet for clean petroleum products consists of four vessels of less than 10,000 dwt.
