Eneos adds two vessels to Stolt Tankers-NYK chemical tanker pool

Chemical tanker firm Stolt Tankers and Japanese shipping company Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK) have made a deal with Eneos Ocean to operate a new chemical tanker pool.

The new pool will be launched within the 11-tanker-strong Stolt NYK Asia Pacific Services (SNAPS). Eneos will contribute two 12,000-dwt tankers which will join the SNAPS pool during the fourth quarter of 2023. The agreement is effective immediately.

The vessels will be equipped with stainless steel tanks that can transport a variety of chemical products and will be able to meet different shipping needs.

“Through this business with Stolt Tankers and Eneos Ocean, NYK aims to provide high-quality transportation services with a competitive fleet in the chemical market, where demand is strong,” NYK explained.

“For more than 30 years, we have had a strong partnership with Stolt Tankers, which boasts the most experience in the chemical carrier business, and we also have a deep relationship of trust with Eneos Ocean, primarily in crude oil tankers. We are pleased to have been able to build on these relationships and move into the chemical ship pool business,” Yuji Nishijima, executive officer at NYK Line.
