Equinor teams with Eneco for Dutch offshore wind tenders

Norway’s Equinor has teamed up with Dutch utility Eneco for the offshore wind tenders for the IJmuiden Ver Alpha and Beta offshore wind sites in the Netherlands.

The two developments will add around 4 GW of offshore wind power to the Dutch energy mix and are seen as important projects in the Dutch Offshore Wind Energy Roadmap.

Eneco is a leading offshore wind developer in the Netherlands and Belgium, with projects such as Hollandse Kust (west) VI, Hollandse Kust (noord) V, Borssele III & IV, and Norther in Belgium. Meanwhile, Equinor has already developed a large global renewable portfolio and is currently building Dogger Bank in the North Sea, which will be the world’s largest offshore wind farm. It also operates other offshore wind farms in the North Sea, such as Hywind Tampen in Norway and Sheringham Shoal, Dudgeon, and Hywind Scotland in the UK.

While the current relationship is focused on the IJmuiden Ver wind tenders, the two firms said they intend to investigate the potential to collaborate throughout Northwestern Europe in the future.
