Euronav confirms suezmax sale

Belgian tanker owner Euronav has confirmed earlier broker reports that it has sold the 2001-built 160,044 dwt suezmax tanker Cap Diamant, the oldest vessel in its fleet, for a price of $20.8m.

Euronav will record a capital gain of around $13m from the sale, which has already been completed. VesselsValue shows the vessel has been acquired by Greek owner World Carrier.

Euronav’s suezmax fleet now stands at 25 vessels including joint ventures. In February, it sold another vintage suezmax, the 2003-built 150,000 dwt suezmax tanker Finesse for a price of $21.8m.
