Foroohari buys 6,500 teu containership from Uthalden Maritime

Uthalden Maritime Management, the maritime arm of Harald Moraeus-Hanssen-led private investment company, has sold one of its vessels.

Uthalden said on its social media channels that it sold the 6,500 teu MH Hamburg containership. The vessel was purchased in July 2018 and delivered on Monday to its new owners.

The company initially did not reveal any financial details or the customer who bought the containership.

In the comment section on a LinkedIn post, the managing director of shipbroking and commercial chartering services firm Harper Petersen & Co, John Freydag, thanked Uthalden Maritime Management for entrusting them with the commercial management of the 2009-built vessel.

He also wished the best to the new owner BF Shipmanagement – also known as Reederei Foroohari – and its founder Bijan Foroohari “much success with this new addition to their fleet.”

After the sale of the MH Hamburg, Uthalden will still own two containerships, four bulkers, two drillships, one semisub rig, two PSVs, two chemical tankers, and one car carrier. The company has also ordered 20,600 dwt chemical tankers, two 114,00 dwt LR2 tankers, and two drillships.
