Fratelli Cosulich adds handy bulker

Italy’s Fratelli Cosulich Group has purchased a 2015-built handysize bulk carrier Venture Ocean.

The price tag for the 38,900 dwt ship, online pricing platform VesselsValue estimated as worth $17.4m and owned by Japan’s Doun Kisen, has not been revealed.

The new addition will lift Fratelli Cosulich’s fleet to 15 vessels. It will be renamed Saturnia and chartered out to Lauritzen Bulkers.

The Genoa-based owner said the deal was backed by compatriot bank Banca Popolare di Sondrio, law firms Watson Farley & William and Studio Turci while shipbroking group Banchero Costa helped search for the asset and in arranging the time charter.
