Fredriksen tipped to be behind LNG pair at Samsung Heavy

John Fredriksen’s Flex LNG has been tipped by brokers to be behind orders for another pair of LNG carriers worth a total of $380m, due for delivery from Samsung Heavy Industries in mid-2022. The Korean yard revealed the order in a release without naming the owner, merely stating the company is based in Bermuda.

This would represent a repeat order for Flex LNG. Last year it took delivery of two 174,000 cu m Samsung Heavy-built gas carriers, the Flex Ranger and the Flex Rainbow.

The latest contracts take Samsung Heavy’s LNG orderbook to 10 units.
