Fujian Guohang Ocean Shipping books up to 12 bulker newbuilds

Chinese bulker owner and operator Fujian Guohang Ocean Shipping is pressing ahead with expansion plans that could see its fleet grow by an additional 12 newbuilds.

The Beijing Stock Exchange-listed company has lifted an option at Jiangsu Haitong Offshore Engineering Equipment for two more 73,800 dwt ships after signing up for four units in January. The same yard also received an order from Fujian Guohang for two 76,000 dwt ships in July.

Meanwhile, the company has commissioned four methanol dual-fuel 89,000 dwt bulkers at compatriot Wuhu Shipyard, with options for six more newbuilds.

Fujian Guohang Ocean Shipping’s fleet currently stands at 19 owned bulkers on VesselsValue, and six panamaxes set to deliver in 2024 and 2025. The cost and delivery dates for the latest newbuilding series have not been disclosed.
