Guangdong Yudean Shipping books pair of kamsarmaxes at Chengxi Shipyard

China’s Guangdong Yudean Shipping is expanding its fleet of bulk carriers with newbuilding deal at the domestic yard.

The dry bulk shipping unit of state-run power company Guangdong Yudean Group has contracted  CSSC-affiliated Chengxi Shipyard for a pair of kamsarmax newbuilds, costing over $71m.

The 82,000 dwt newbuilds will deliver in February and April 2027 and add to the company’s fleet, which currently counts 22 bulkers, according to VesselsValue data.
