Guangzhou Port to develop new logistics park

Guangzhou Port Group has announced a plan to develop a new logistics park in the Nansha Port area in order to meet the increasing demand for intermodal container services at the port.

The port has allocated 320,000 square metres of land next to the Nansha container terminal for the development of the park. The project will also include a railway connection.

The total investment on the project is estimated at RMB1.66bn ($260m).

Guangzhou Port believes the project will greatly enhance the port’s ocean-rail transportation capability and have positive impact on the port’s container throughput.

Construction of the project is expected to commence in November this year and complete by June 2020.
