Gulf Marine Services inks French wind farm vessel deal

UAE-based liftboat operator Gulf Marine Services (GMS) has penned a contract with an unnamed client to support the construction and development of a major offshore wind farm in France.

The London-listed firm with a fleet of 13 self-propelled self-elevating support vessels (SESVs), said the contract is due to complete in the first quarter of 2023, without disclosing further details.

Earlier this month, GMS said it had a contract in France with bankrupt Danish crew transfer vessel operator World Marine Offshore. This contract was also due to complete in Q1 2023.

Mansour Al Alami GMS executive chairman noted the deal further reflected the strong demand for the company’s vessels and GMS’ long-term commitment to the renewable energy sector, in addition the oil and gas sector.
