Island Drilling awarded North Sea contract by OMV

Norway’s Island Drilling Company has been awarded a contract with OMV (Norge) to drill one well on License 644, close to Aasgaard Field in the North Sea. It has also signed a separate agreement with OMV for up to 3 option wells in other Norwegian sea areas.

2012-built semi-submersible Island Innovator is scheduled to commence in either the second or third quarter of 2020.

OMV (Norge) is the operator of License 644 with a 30% interest.
