James Fisher lands Triton Knoll deal

James Fisher and Sons has secured a multi-million-pound contract at the Triton Knoll offshore transmission (OFTO) project located in Lincolnshire, with the offshore platform some 32 km off the coast in the North Sea.

The long-term deal will see James Fisher Renewables provide complete end-to-end operations and maintenance services to support informed decision-making for the OFTO, owned by funds managed by Equitix and TEPCO Power Grid UK.

In addition, James Fisher will support Triton Knoll OFTO, ensuring the system’s safety is in line with high-voltage safety rules, which have been developed and tailored by its team and integrate the operations and maintenance of all auxiliary systems.

The Triton Knoll wind farm sports 90 turbines delivering 857 MW of power for around 800,000 UK homes. James Fisher’s work is scheduled to begin in December 2023 and has the potential to run for more than 23 years. It will be the fifth collaboration between the company and Equitix.

“This project marks the latest in a series of successes and sees James Fisher’s global management portfolio reach 4.5GW across the entire renewables asset life cycle,” said Jonathan Ball, head of operations and engineering at James Fisher Renewables.
