Jim Miller to return as Philly Shipyard chairman

Philly Shipyard, formerly Aker Philadelphia Shipyard, has announced that Jim Miller will return to the role of chairman of the board, a role he had previously held from 2011 to 2014.

Miller’s nomination to the position is expected to be approved at an extraordinary general meeting on February 1, and he will replace Kristian Rokker who is stepping aside. Rokker is CEO of Akastor, part of the Aker group which is the majority-owner of the yard.

Fokker, commenting on the appointment, remarked: “I am very pleased that Jim has agreed to return as chairman given his extensive leadership background and familiarity with Philly Shipyard.”

Miller served as president and CEO of Philly Shipyard from June 2008 to April 2011 prior to his first stint as chairman.
