Kim Heng secures horizontal drilling contract

Singapore’s Kim Heng Offshore & Marine Holdings has secured a horizontal directional drilling (HDD) contract, via subsidiary Kim Heng Marine & Oilfield, from a repeat customer.

The new contract is set to commence this month, and its part of Kim Heng’s move into the renewable energy services for shallow water subsea cable laying and wind farm projects in Asia.

“The award of the contract is testament to the Group’s growing capability and competency in the HDD space. Leveraging on our expertise in the oil and gas sector, we will continue to capitalise on every suitable market opportunity to secure more works and intend to develop our competitive advantage and track record not only in the HDD space, but also in the renewable energy sector,” the company said in a statement.
