Korean Register appoints new chairman

The Korean Register of Shipping (KR) has appointed Lee Jung-Gee, former executive vice president, as its new chairman.

Lee has been at the Korean class society since 1987. He replaces Dr B.S. Park (pictured), who died after a short illness in October.

With both the Korean merchant fleet and orders at the nation’s yards dwindling, Lee will have a big job on his hands to further internationalise its client base in the coming year.
