KSS Line orders VLGC pair at Hyundai Heavy

South Korean tanker operator KSS Line has placed an order at Hyundai Heavy Industries for the construction of up to two 86,000 cu m VLGCs.

The contract includes firm order for one ship and option for another, with delivery of the first ship is scheduled in 2021.

According to shipbroking sources, the price for the scrubber-fitted ship is $76m, and the ship has been fixed to a firm charter with a Spanish energy trader.

KSS Line currently operates a LPG carrier fleet of 15 vessels, including eight VLGCs.
